Not only is Bob Uecker’s book, “A Catcher in the Wry,” a great read, but the title also aptly describes the fantasy value of most catchers. Most of their stats add up to very little fantasy benefit. In a two-catcher league, chances are that you will be unable to draft one impact catcher, much less two. Does this mean that the intrepid fantasy owner should let position scarcity push them into drafting a catcher early? Not necessarily.
