I wanted to update you all on one of my favorite young players and to those of you who know the Godfather, it wasn’t hard to figure out it was a Red. His name is Joey Votto
Today the Reds called up six players to the majors but none more anticipated than Joey Votto. The 23-year-old first baseman/outfielder batted .294 with 22 home runs, 92 RBIs and a .381 on-base percentage. A 2002 second-round Draft pick, he was the Louisville’s most valuable player and the International League’s rookie of the year.
While with the Chattanooga Lookouts, Votto was named the 2006 Southern League’s Most Valuable Player.
“He will be playing, whether it’s on a daily basis — that’s to be determined,” manager Pete Mackanin said. “We’re going to talk with him when he gets here. He’ll certainly play.”
This obviously spells trouble for the veteran Scott Hatteberg,When told of Vottos call up Hatteberg said he understood his time was going to get cut. “They know all about my tired act,” He joked.
Pete Mackanin said Votto would be playing first base for him. Don’t expect him to see a whole lot of time in the outfield.

Hello everyone. I’m back with big time information for you guys.
- Twins are taking offers for Santana, It will take Hughes and another one to get him from the Yankees.
- The Red Sox are hot after Santana.
- Roger Clemens is Retiring at the end of the year.
- A manager in a major market could take over for his predecessor after this season.
Have a good one guys.
Could you find out if Jim Leyritz will be part of the next Yankee coaching staff ?
Alright Tony. I’ll look into it when I get a chance.
Regarding the manager, I will keep you guessing I am not at liberty to say the name(s) yet.
Roger Clemens is retiring? Where have I heard that before…… Going by his performance maybe the Red Sox will get him a Hummer this time ;).
Bruce, Dunn, Hamilton and Griffey arent gonna fit in one outfield any ideas where Dunn will go this offseason?
I think Dunn will go to Philly to replace Pat Burrell and hit 50 homers and 200 K’s. The Reds receive Kyle Kendrick in return.
It actaully looks like based on performance the Rocket gave the Yankees a Hummer.
RD, Who will become the first hurling coach fired ?
Josh Beckett is now the front runner for Cy Young. Do people remember the last time Beckett pitched in the World Series ??? Theeee Yaaaaankeeeesssss lose.
Hey guys glad to see you all posting, I’ll answer the questions. Thanks for the responses.
- Well regarding Adam Dunn the Angels almost got him at the trade deadline and it looks like there is a good chance they make another attempt at him. Yes, a deal was closer than you all heard about.
- Another tidbit, Willie Randolph is a darkhorse for Yankee Manager next season.
Be Well guys.
“Another tidbit, Willie Randolph is a darkhorse for Yankee Manager next season.”
Please listen to today’s podcast of the Wiretap. Evan the Censor calls the INFORMANT a big fat liar and cries like a child. Willie would never leave his beloved METS for the YANKS. Then the METS would truly become the ugly red-headed step-child of New York…. The shows great, The INFORMANT has started a buzz around water coolers and Minneapolis Airport restrooms. Keep up with the surging Fantasy Baseball Mafia website or be left behind.
Tony, I listened to the podcast. For those who read this. I’m not posting this to be fake or scam you guys, I do this because I appreciate how you guys love the game of baseball and I feel you guys deserve to get this information. I am telling you what I was told about Willie Randolph how he is concerned a darkhorse for the Yankee job, flat out simple. A darkhorse doesn’t mean he’s going anywhere.
You can rip me on that all you want but you can’t critize the other information I’ve posted about Santana and A-Rod and the other players, I don’t do this to take crap from people. For those of you who appreciate what I post I thank you for taking the time to do just that, appreciate it. If you don’t like what I post, that isn’t my problem. Again thank you to the guys who read this and enjoy the information. Right now things are a little hectic and I should have new information next week.
Be Well.
The information you provide is thought provoking and I like guys that take risky leaps of faith…We provide debate on the podcast and often take both sides of the debate. That is why people listen. It is kind of like this blog, you listened and got pissed off and wrote. If everyone always agreed or if we told people we love everyone the show would be horrible….People like Bob in Cleveland would fall asleep in 32 minutes. We ride people all the time including ourselves ( JD Durbin). Even the man,the myth, the legend is not exempt…GP
The Willie Randolph thing is so far out there it could be true. Willie had a long distinguished career as a Yankee, ” a true YANKEE”, so if they had an opening he would have to be at least intrigued. If the METS were to win a World Series, what a better way for Steinbrenner to steal headlines…The whole segment in the show which I started off the cuff, was to worry the METS fans ( Evan the Censor). I wanted to let him know in the baseball market they are still the Yankees little brother.
We will mention your work and push people to this part of the Mafia Community. It will continue to grow and people will always have the forum and debate comments…So welcome aboard and enjoy the community. Peace , Love and Happiness for each and everyone of you, and your families.
Alright, very true. I apologize for getting agitated, Tony thanks very much. By the way, I’m taking it that your a Royals fan?
